Kristina Yamamoto is a San Diego based commercial and editorial photographer who specializes in fashion, beauty, and lifestyle work. She also has a focus on retouching, specifically in beauty and fashion.
From the photographer: “I love the entire process of making photos; Conceptualizing, planning, following the inspiration during the shoot, and finalizing the vision in post processing and retouching; every step has a different creative element that engages me.
Whenever I’m creating images, my goal is always to create something intriguing and beautiful. Something that puts the viewer in the environment. Whether it’s creating concepts or documenting, I love telling stories through photos. I’m inspired by light, fashion, travel, people, and stories.
I went to CSULB & SDSU for in graphic design, fine art & illustration. During my studies, I tapped into my love for photography as another way to bring my ideas to light.
Photography has lead me to explore many genres, but it was the conceptual self portraits and editorial portraiture that I started with, that eventually lead to the commercial and fashion work that I do now.”
